Challenge: Launch Kubo and the Two Strings and cut through a crowded animated film landscape – translating its distinctive origami-inspired world into a campaign that would spark curiosity and drive theatrical attendance.

Solution: Created #KubosWorld, a multi-channel campaign that brought Kubo’s fantastical universe into the real world. We transformed everyday city objects into striking origami-inspired installations and paired them with social storytelling – turning streets into discovery moments and fans into amplifiers.

Results: Extended the film’s world beyond the screen, generating organic social buzz and fan intrigue through immersive, shareable experiences. The campaign elevated awareness and anticipation for the release, helping drive audience engagement and theatrical turnout.

DOOH

Interactive digital ads
Sound-activated digital OOH broadcasts rich, dynamic origami stories within custom digital movie posters. Featuring characters from the film, animations are triggered (and altered) by ambient sounds in the vicinity, or the user’s own vocalizations. The digital poster reacts to the volume and nature of the sound around it - morphing gorgeous origami figures into an exhilarating story, while enticing fans to watch the movie.
